This was a special wedding for me. Last year I photographed one of my high school best friends, Nicole’s wedding! This year, I had the privilege to photographer her brother’s wedding all the way in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Getting to know Grant and Allison has been an absolute joy. Allison’s constant smile and upbeat attitude make the world a better place and Grant can ALWAYS crack a joke.

I grew up with Grant and never once saw him cry, but that all changed. You can tell how much he loves Allison. He teared up during their first look, when she walked down the aisle and even when she had the sweetest dance with her father. It was so refreshing to see a man be totally okay with being emotional on his wedding day.

I still cannot get over the fact that people trust me with their most treasured memories and it means even more when my friends give me that honor. While we were taking portraits during sunset, Allison said she was thinking about who would take their family photos in the future and without skipping a beat, she said, “Your parents are still in Atlanta, you can do them for us, RIGHT?” I almost cried. I am so thankful for this job and the people I get to meet.

Grant and Allison, you are both wonderful people who love each other so much. Don’t ever forget that. I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses your generous and loving spirits.
