My goodness, gracious, I am getting old. I cannot believe one of my best friends in high school’s little brother is getting married and I am photographing his engagement session. I’ve known Grant for over ten years, but it feels like longer. Grant is the little brother of one of my best friends in high school Nicole, and I got to watch him grow up. Grant was in the same class as my brother, Daniel. I will always remember how annoyed we were at our little brothers… all the time. (We might have even been a little mean. Haha)
Nicole got married in June, and I had the honor of photographing her wedding. It was such a fun time with friend’s that I’ve known for so long. Allison was a bridesmaid in Nicole’s wedding, and I remember saying to myself, “this girl is so sweet”; that’s how much of an impression she made on me.
Allison was kind, helpful and beautiful positive. It’s so clear that she has the sweetest heart. At the time of Nicole’s wedding, Grant and Allison weren’t engaged, but a little over a week later, Grant popped the question. I had a feeling everyone at the wedding knew it was coming. Allison is finishing up her Bachelor’s to become an elementary school teacher and it’s apparent that it’s the perfect job for her. She has a servant’s heart, a bubbly personality and a passion to pour into others.
After their engagement session, we were chatting and Allison told me that I was the first wedding vendor that she booked and to say that I was flattered would be an understatement.
Getting to know my couples is one of my favorite things. Even though I already “know” these two, I can’t wait to spend more time with them. We are all excited for their June wedding in Michigan! With someone as organized and detail oriented as Allison, I know it’s going to a fantastic day!
